What Is Clomiphene?

Clomiphene is a non-steroidal fertility medicine. It causes the pituitary gland to release hormones needed to stimulate ovulation (the release of an egg from the ovary).

Clomiphene is used to cause ovulation in women with certain medical conditions (such as polycystic ovary syndrome) that prevent naturally occurring ovulation.

It’s also used for other purposes aswell.

What Are Clomiphene Benefits?

• INITIATE OVULATION. It is usually recommended for women who have irregular or absent menstrual cycles.  It can either initiate or augment ovulation, which means it can possibly stimulate the ovaries to produce more than just one mature egg, thus the cause of multiple births.

How Does Clomiphene Work?

Clomiphene is a selective estrogen receptor modulator or SERM. It causes the release of the Gonadotropin-releasing hormone or GnRH by the hypothalamus and the gonadotropin from the anterior pituitary gland. But for best results, it has to be taken at the right time, preferably starting on the fifth day of a woman subject’s cycle. Frequent intercourse is also important to initiate a pregnancy.
